The role

Landor & Fitch Mumbai is looking for a talented Senior Brand & Retail Designer to join our multi-skilled and multicultural studio. The ideal candidate will represent Landor & Fitch infatuation with the future of retail/brand and seamless consumer experiences – you must be curious and passionate about the impact of design in shaping the future.

You will develop highly innovative and creative solutions to strategically driven projects across omnichannel, providing design leadership and inspiration through individual talent and work ethics.

Job Purpose

  • Managing both specific medium sized projects and various parts of projects simultaneously
  • Designing and developing innovative branded solutions for retail markets with specific contribution across experience design and awareness of 2D and digital skill areas within a seamless customer journey

Key Responsibilities

  • Creativity – delivering conceptual work of the highest creative standard
  • Planning – developing a clear understanding of the proposal and to highlight and pre-empt issues that may arise
  • Delivery – organising activities and responsibilities within projects, and ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met
  • Client Management – coordinating activities for client presentations, attending client meetings and delivering a clear report of meetings
  • Communication – ensuring consistent and effective communications take place across the project team
  • Best Practice – working closely with Creative Director, Design Directors and other senior members of staff to help develop and nurture the creative studio and creative standards
  • Leadership – to undertake project leader responsibilities (including creative, administrative and presentation within the brief)
  • Mentoring – motivating, inspiring and nurturing junior designers professionally

Professional and Technical Experience 

  • Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Branded Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years industry experience
  • Proven “hands-on” experience working on projects across retail design in branded consumer environments, ideally retail background.
  • Curious and passionate about contributing to the impact of design in shaping the future
  • Deep understanding of the omnichannel/experience design market, relevant trends and future trend insights
  • Understanding of the intricacies of Customer Journey mapping, planning and design
  • Ability to think strategically and bring that thinking into your design ideas, planning and outcomes
  • Excellent personal presentation skills – ability to communicate ideas in a professional manner, i.e. sketches, written proposals, verbal client briefing and project reviews
  • Fluency in English essential
  • Strong creative folio with international and local client experience
  • Excellent software skills
  • Ability to brief and manage third-party consultants and contractors
  • Proven ability in offering a multi-skilled and challenging outlook to creative briefs
  • Ability to perform consistently and reliably with a willingness to increase professional responsibilities, skills and understanding of broader market issues
  • Understand of environmental graphics iconography and typography
  • Robust experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and prototyping tools
  • An understanding of the capabilities of various web platforms and mobile devices
  • Desire to work in a fluid, agile and collaborative environment
  • Ability to work independently or within a team (especially cross-functional teams)
